Day 3.

After a majorly fast pace day yesterday we thought we'd have a slightly slower day today. So the agenda consisted of Top of The Rock, a tour bus around the city and The Statue of Liberty. The day then threw a few spanners in our works!

The Rockefeller Center is definitely the best place in the city for the views, in my opinion, no where can beat it! From the observation deck on a clear day you can see landmarks such as WTC1, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building (and my personal fave) Central Park. On my last visit here the weather didn't play in our favour and it was unfortunately foggy, this time however NYC rewarded us with great weather and amazing views, finally got the Central Park view I wanted!

After spending the morning taking in the views we hopped on a tour bus to take in the rest of what the city had to offer. We struck it really lucky and got a really enthusiastic, classicly American tour guide. He had stories upon stories of streets, buildings, parks, even apartments! So 2 hours later of listening to him, we finally forced our selves off the bus and decided we were going to make our way to Statue of Liberty... Well wasn't that just the worst mistake ever! We spent the best part of an hour and half trying to get there thanks to railway construction only to find the stupid ticket office closed at 5!! This was at 5:15 by the way.
So after thinking NYC had gotten one over on us we thought we'd hedge our bets and head home, not before getting distracted and wondering off path and ending up on the Staten Island Ferry instead. We thought, can't be that bad, turns out it can! After slowly watching Manhattan disappear in the background, Staten Island slowly emerged. We didn't have anything left on the days agenda so we decided we would go for a wonder round the island, I think hoping for a hidden gem. Ain't nothing hidden gem about that place! We no sooner stepped out the terminal before we were making a b-line back!

After waiting in the terminal we saw the beaming orange ferry pull up and dashed over to welcome it! Once Staten Island was in the distance and Manhattan was coming back to us, we soon perked back up again. It was good to be back!

So we're settling down to a slightly earlier night than the last few, we pick up our tour tomorrow so need to repack our bags and get well rested before taking on our final day in NYC!

See you tomorrow.
